about
This is the first in a series of single tracks i'm planning on releasing, as often as possible, as I gear up for a full-length recording in the near future. It is one of many songs, started at different times over the last several years and worked on sporadically (at my own studio) when I've had time. I hope you like it!
lyrics
Look at me
I'm a stranger in a strange land
Being guided by a glass hand
Playing in a brass band
All the old-time songs
And I'm free
Got no money but i'm alright
Me and my friends stay up all night
Living in the dim light
While the world goes wrong
And I don't think there's anything that I can do
I just bide my time
Look for things I can't see through
Sounding out these dead degrees for
Just one thing as true
As the thought of you
Reaching me
You were born inside a baby grand
From the scope in Galileo's hand
Naked on the night stand
Whispering a song
You were brought up in paradise
I can feel you when I don't think twice
You've been giving me sound advice
No one else can hear
And I don't think there's anything that I can do
I just bide my time
Hope my little dreams come true
Skating on thin ice so many
All go crashing through
For the thought of you
I don't think there's anything that I can do
I just bide my time
Hope my little dreams come true
Skating on thin ice so many
All go crashing through
For the thought of you, the thought of you
Though failure runs his fingers through your hair
I still want you
